Competitor360® similarities to Michael E. Porter’s Five Forces Model are not accidental. For more than forty years, Porter’s model has proven to be an effective framework for competitive analysis.

Central to the Five Forces model are rivalries within an industry. We consider the market for a category of products. We identify companies providing those products.

We learn as much as we can about each product, noting features and prices. How are products similar to or different from one another? Within each product category, what share of the market does each company or product command?

Identifying and understanding close competitors is central to competitive analysis.
